Triple Threat opens with a jungle-set rescue mission as a Jai leads a group of well-armed and well-paid warmongers into the very heart of darkness to rescue one of their brothers in arms. "Triple Threat" unites three stalwarts of contemporary martial arts cinema: Indonesia's Iko Uwais ("The Raid"), Thailand's Tony Jaa (the "Ong-Bak" trilogy) and China's Tiger Chen (who did stunts on "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" and the "Matrix" movies). This movie could look better if there were only Iko Uwais against Scott Adkins as they both charismatic enough to give that film the reason for existing. It's a no-brainer that jam-packed with talents Triple Threat could easily sustain a franchise but do we really need it?
